One of the things Japanese schools get so right: expecting kids to ride a bicycle as their primary mode of transportation. This is, of course, helped by the fact that they can’t get a drivers license until they turn 20 and some kids ride quite a distance to get to school. As a result, the “bike racks” at schools are often huge and resemble a parking lot.
This is only a small portion of our bicycle parking area. Each grade has its own designated area.
