June 21 – Break

I’ve been posting a photo every day for the last year and a half. I haven’t missed a day since January 1, 2014. For the most part, I really enjoy it, but sometimes it’s a struggle. I’ve gone through periods this year where I’ve been sick and haven’t been out of the house much, so I didn’t take any pictures except for the cat and maybe food. I’ve gone through periods where I just don’t take a lot of pictures, whether its lack of opportunity or I just find myself enjoying things and I don’t take any pictures.

The point is, I need a break. I’m getting ready to take another trip to America and I’m feeling particularly stressed out right now and I need a break. So after a year and a half, I’m giving myself a break. It may only be a week. It may be a couple weeks. Don’t fret, though. I’ll be back soon with more pictures everyday. Until then, I hope you’ve been enjoying what has been posted so far and I’ll see you soon.

June 19 – Baby Seal

There’s a store at one of the local malls that sells stuffed baby seals in costumes. You can buy new costumes ever so often. I think they’re pretty cute. I have one that wears a piece of tuna so it looks like sushi. I sent one of our baby nephews one that was wearing shrimp and the other baby nephew one wearing a giraffe costume. I won’t repeat what my neither had to say about that that one.

The newest costume is a little disturbing. It’s a shark and at first you’re looking at it thinking “Awww…cute!” And then you realize it looks like the baby seal is getting eaten by the shark.

June 16 – To The Ladies Who Breakfast For Lunch

Today’s post is for my “Ladies Who Breakfast For Lunch”…Danielle and Liz. A year ago, we had a little Ladies Night where we cooked and ate good food, did a little bit of drinking and a lot of talking. This one didn’t involve breakfast. Or lunch. But that’s not really the point. Tonight’s point is that I miss them. A lot.

June 15 – Kowai

こわい, kowai is Japanese for scary. Not to be confused with かわいい, kawaii, cute. Sometimes I have to ask to make sure I heard the word correctly. Sometimes there no doubt such word was used. When referring to these:

the word is kowai. Scary. Mukade. Ugh. I hate these things. In some ways they still scare the crap out of me. In some ways, they’re no big deal…just part of life in the inaka. When you open the front door and one falls on your arm, as this one did, it scares the crap out you. Sets the heart racing and the adrenaline pumping.

Definitely こわい.
