There’s a store at one of the local malls that sells stuffed baby seals in costumes. You can buy new costumes ever so often. I think they’re pretty cute. I have one that wears a piece of tuna so it looks like sushi. I sent one of our baby nephews one that was wearing shrimp and the other baby nephew one wearing a giraffe costume. I won’t repeat what my neither had to say about that that one.
The newest costume is a little disturbing. It’s a shark and at first you’re looking at it thinking “Awww…cute!” And then you realize it looks like the baby seal is getting eaten by the shark.
Because I miss my family and I miss Hawaii (everyday on both), today’s picture comes from my trip to Kona on the big island with my oldest brother and nephew in August of 2012. We watched the sunset while we were swimming because is there a better place to watch an amazing sunset? Absolutely not.
Because it’s my mom’s birthday, today’s picture is for her…
Her favorite grand kitty.
Happy Birthday, Mom!
The birthday awesomeness continued today with a box from Brandon’s brother, sister-in-law and our adorable nephew. Great birthday stuff. Velveeta. Ranch dressing mix. Smarties. Fristing. Cupcake mix. Jiffy. Art work from Oliver. It was amazing.
I didn’t take a single picture today. Not even one of Manmaru. I was looking back through my pictures on my phone and came across a bazillion pictures of Oliver, our nephew. He’s pretty awesome and I miss him a lot. Here he is with Brandon on the Riverwalk in San Antonio.
I don’t usually take a lot of selfies, but I can’t resist the nephew selfies. Here’s my favorite from today:
We spent the late morning/early afternoon in San Antonio with Brandon’s brother and our very cute nephew Oliver.
A good time was had by all!
We successfully completed our photo of the day challenge for 2014! On the one hand, whew! That’s over. On the other hand, we’ve had a lot of requests to continue. Brandon and I have talked about what we want to do for 2015 and we both have different ideas. I went speak for him, but I’m going to try to continue posting every day. I’m going to attempt to put a little more structure into this year to coincide with other goals for the year, but there will be a photo every day. I’ll write more later about the changes I want to make, but for now, here’s my photo for today:
That’s Brandon attempting to light some little tank fireworks last night.
Happy New Year again, everyone! Here’s to a great 2015!
2014 had its highs and its lows, but overall it was a pretty great year. Here’s to a new year filled with more great things. Happy New Year, folks! Thanks for reading our little blog.
I got out the laptop today to show my sister-in-law some drum videos from Awa Odori. Kieran got really excited…not by drum videos (although he thought those were cool too), but by the computer.
