Because I miss my family and I miss Hawaii (everyday on both), today’s picture comes from my trip to Kona on the big island with my oldest brother and nephew in August of 2012. We watched the sunset while we were swimming because is there a better place to watch an amazing sunset? Absolutely not.

I actually take a lot of pictures of flowers. A lot. I don’t post a lot of pictures of flowers, but I take them. To make up for the lack of pretty flower posts (except for the obnoxious amount of sakura posts during sakura season) here are a few flower pictures I’ve taken in the last couple of days.
I’ve been slowly looking through all these details shots I have taken over the years and have noticed that I might have a bit of an obsession with wood grain. I have taken a lot of detail shots of wood grain. I like them.
This is from my very first trip to Kyoto in September 2012. If I remember correctly, this one was taken at Ginkakuji.
